    Hearing Education Services

    Hearing Education Services is a unit of the Division of Special Education/Citywide Programs of the New York City Public Schools. It consists of four programs: The Related Services Program, The Resource Room Program, The Self-Contained Program and The High School Program. Hearing Education Services provides the public with information and advocacy concerning hard of hearing and deaf services.

    National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM)

    The goal of the NCHAM at Utah State University is to ensure that all infants and toddlers with hearing loss are identified as early as possible and provided with timely and appropriate audiological, educational, and medical intervention. The site offers an Infant/Newborn Hearing site guide providing extensive resources that can be located by state.

    The Early Intervention Program is a statewide program providing many different types of early intervention services to infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families.     Early Intervention supports infants and children with developmental delays work toward their full potential. It reduces the likelihood of delays among at-risk children, assists and empowers families to meet their child’s and their own needs, and entitles all children to services through the city program. Directories of Service Providers, Evaluation Providers, Transportation Providers and Respite Providers are available on the web site for each of the five boroughs

    New York State Technical Assistance Project (NYSTAP)

    NYSTAP Serving Children and Youth Who Are Deaf/blind provides technical assistance to service providers and families in order to effectively promote a free appropriate education to students with sensory impairment. Services include technical assistance, diagnostic and evaluation services, community resource referral, program consultation, family support services, assistance in case coordination and transition planning. Children and youth from birth to age 22 who have any combination of vision and hearing impairment qualify for services.
