Welcome to The Children's Hearing Institute. Founded
in 1983 by Dr. Simon Parisier, and his wife, Elaine,
the Institute provides funding for research, educational
support, and other programs related to the restoration
of hearing for infants and children with hearing loss
or profound deafness. Restoration of hearing is not
enough. We believe in the "whole child" approach,
resulting in comprehensive evaluations and optimal educational
placement, as well as continuing support in the child's
school setting.
While CHI currently focuses much of our efforts on
children who are deaf and can be helped with cochlear
implant technology, we conduct research related to causes
of deafness that ultimately can benefit people of all
ages.
